A 6-year-old girl suffering from severe psoriasis had been treated unsuccessfully by various conventional methods. She developed measles and, on recovery from measles, the psoriasis soon cleared up and now, 6 months later, she still has had no further recurrence. The basic defect in psoriasis, basal cell hyperplasia and defective keratinization, may well be immunologically mediated. Measles virus, by its immunosuppressive effect can lead to remission of psoriasis.

The simultaneously recorded disappearance rates of 133Xe from subcutaneous adipose tissue in the crus were studied in 10 patients with psoriasis vulgaris using atraumatic labeling of the tissue in lesional skin (LS) areas and symmetrical, nonlesional skin (NLS) areas. The acral form of generalized pustular psoriasis is characterized by macroscopic pustules surmounting erythematous plaques that may progress from a localized distal eruption to involve the entire cutaneous surface. Juvenile-onset and familial-generalized pustular psoriasis are rare; familial-juvenile-generalized pustular psoriasis is exceptionally uncommon. A kindred of three children in the same generation had chronic, localized-acral pustular psoriasis and episodic-generalized pustular psoriasis.

Report about three patients suffering from psoriasis vulgaris, who were not responsive to common dermatological treatment for many years. After peritoneal dialysis the psoriasis cleared and has not recurred for three to six months. Immunological investigations before and after peritoneal dialysis showed an increasing number of E-rosettes and a decrease of the concentration of soluble immune complexes of the serum.

Itch was measured quantitatively as nocturnal scratch in 12 patients with psoriasis treated with 8-methoxypsoralen and UVA and in 7 treated with dithranol. Three of those treated with PUVA showed an increase in nocturnal limb movement which was mostly due to itch but partly due to restlessness. There was little change in nocturnal limb movement in patients treated with dithranol.

A patient with psoriasis and anterior uveitis is described. In her family the two entities of iridocyclitis and psoriasis occurred separately in two generations and appeared associated in the third generation. Tissue typing of the family revealed HL-A 27 antigen in two members and HL-A 17 in the other two members. The possible relevance of HL-A antigens to the two clinical entities is discussed.
