Right-sided ligamentum teres (RSLT) is a rare congenital anomaly in which the fetal umbilical vein is connected to the right paramedian trunk of the portal vein. An 80-year-old woman underwent curative sigmoidectomy for sigmoid cancer 3 years prior to presentation. After 1 year, small solitary liver metastasis was noted in segment 4. Because the patient experienced recurrence of the same lesion after chemotherapy and radiofrequency ablation, she was referred to our hospital. Laparoscopic ventrosuspension is simple to perform after diagnostic laparoscopy. Serious postoperative complication is unlikely. However, patient follow-up over 6 months has not confirmed the usefulness of laparoscopic ventrosuspension in the management of deep dyspareunia or pelvic pain in association with a retroverted uterus. The success rate of laparoscopic ventrosuspension at 6 months varies from 18.6% to 46.5%. The prior use of a Hodge pessary does not predict the success of laparoscopic ventrosuspension.

We present here a case of uterine perforation following manual removal of the placenta during the third stage of normal labor. Total abdominal hysterectomy was performed, and the 4x3-cm perforation of the uterus and placenta accreta were confirmed. In this case, the round ligament covering the hematoma prevented bleeding into the peritoneal cavity and peritonitis. Manual removal of the placenta should be performed carefully following ultrasonographic assessment for placental abnormalities such as placenta accreta.

We report the first three cases of vaginally assisted laparoscopic radical hysterectomy in Mexico. Two patients with cervical cancer stage 1B and one patient stage 1A2 (FIGO) were selected. The procedure starts with a careful evaluation of the abdominal cavity. The round ligament is cut with monopolar energy and both leaves of the broad ligament are opened. The infundibulopelvic ligament is sutured and cut. Then we proceed with the pelvic lymphadenectomy, which includes: dissection of the common iliac vessels, hypogastric and external iliac vessels, and the obturator nerve to the pelvic floor.

Elbow injuries in young athletes are increasing with these athletes specializing in a single sport at an early age and participating in their chosen sport at a high level year-round. The majority of these injuries occur from valgus loading of the elbow, either repetitively causing an overuse injury or more acutely resulting in a fracture or dislocation. Capitellar osteochondritis dissecans, medial epicondyle injuries and ulnar collateral ligament injuries are three of the most common elbow injuries occurring in young athletes.

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the clinical effects of laparoscopic sacral colpopexy using prolene mesh for patients with pelvic organ prolapse.
METHODS: Laparoscopic placement of prolene mesh in the rectovaginal septum and veslcovaginal septum of 42 women with uterine prolapse with bladder and rectum prolapse. One mesh was fixed to the round ligaments and another to the periosteum of the sacral vertebrae. OBJECTIVE: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of cytology smears in distinguishing between tube and non-tube structures.
METHODS: One hundred cytology smears of fallopian tube and non-tube structures (vessels, round and ovarian ligaments) were prepared from surgically removed uterus and fallopian tube specimens and stained by the Papanicolaou method. The slides were reviewed blindly by pathologists and interpreted as tube or non-tube structures. The results were compared to the histological examination of the same specimens.

Periodontal ligament fibroblasts (PdLFs) are an elongated cell type in the periodontium with matrix and bone regulatory functions which become abnormal in periodontal disease (PD). Here we found that the normally elongated and oriented PdLF nucleus becomes rounded and loses orientation in a mouse model of PD. Lipoma of the spermatic cord or the round ligament is called inguinal canal lipoma. It may present as an inguinal herniating mass of fat tissue, with or without an accompanying herniating sac. There are few reports about large lipomas of the spermatic cord. We describe a case of a large spermatic cord pure lipoma, initially suspected to be an inguinal hernia upon physical examination. We diagnosed the lipoma with ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. The patient subsequently underwent left orchiectomy.

A woman in her 40s presented with progressive swelling in her right groin and associated lower limb paraesthesia. Imaging revealed a large, septated cystic lesion adjacent to the round ligament of the uterus, raising suspicion for a hydrocoele of the canal of Nuck-a rare congenital remnant infrequently seen in adult women. Surgical excision confirmed the diagnosis. This case highlights a diagnostic challenge, where familiarity with rare embryological variants, in conjunction with detailed imaging, was essential for timely and effective treatment.

Hydrocele in the Canal of Nuck is a condition of female fetal development. The Canal of Nuck is a patent tubular peritoneal fold that travels with the round ligament to its attachment on the labia major. Failure of complete obliteration of the Canal of Nuck during fetal development predisposes females to development of a hydrocele or an inguinal hernia during post-pubertal or adult stages. We present a case of a 21 year old female with a tender reducible labial mass diagnosed as a Hydrocele in the Canal of Nuck.

Necrosis of the ligamentum teres hepatis is a very rare and misdiagnosed pathology. Four cases have been reported in the literature. Clinical symptoms with acute abdominal pain suggest peritonitis. The diagnostic may be obtained by CT scan of the abdomen revealing a hypo/dense circular lesion, anterior to the liver, to the junction of the segments III and IV, associated with inflammation. The mechanism of isolated necrosis of the round liver ligament remains unclear. In the absence of a preoperative diagnosis, a video-laparoscopic exploration is proposed.
