Baicalin nanosuspensions, stabilized with 10% TPGS (relative to the weight of baicalin), were transformed into nanosuspensions powders by solidification process. OBJECTIVE: To compare two new generation antimuscarinics at their recommended doses for treatment of overactive bladder syndrome (OAB).
METHODS: A prospective, double blind, double-dummy, two-arm, parallel-group, 12-week study was conducted to compare the efficacy and safety of solifenacin 5 or 10 mg and tolterodine extended release (ER) 4 mg once daily in OAB patients. After 4 weeks of treatment patients had the option to request a dose increase but were dummied throughout as approved product labelling only allowed an increase for those on solifenacin.

Esters of succinic acid are potent insulin secretagogues, and have been proposed as novel antidiabetic agents for type 2 diabetes. The results are presented of the hemodynamics investigations under the influence of two saline infusion solutions in varying types of hemorrhage. The suggested crystalloid solution succinasol contains sodium succinate (instead of lactate that is present in lactasol) which improves energetic processes in tissues under conditions of circulatory hypoxia. The results of the study of hemodynamics parameters and animal survival rate have shown succinasol advantages as compared to the lactate-saline blood substitute in acute massive hemorrhage and reversible hemorrhagic shock.

A patient with severe muscular hypotonia, failure to thrive, a metabolic acidosis and a renal tubular dysfunction is presented. The disease followed a fatal course.
