An outbreak of Yellow Fever in South Eastern State involving Uyo, Itu and Abak divisions is presented. The occurrence of few jaundiced cases with fever in places 29-35 km outside Uyo indicated that the epidemic was more widely spread than it was thought. The rural communities appeared to be more severely affected where a considerably large number of unrecorded deaths were reported. Mortality rate was about 56% among hospitalised patients. The diagnosis of Yellow Fever was confirmed by virus isolation and serology This was the first recorded outbreak in this area.

Virological and serological investigations of the viral meningitis cases recorded in a county of Romania in the summer of 1975 demonstrated that in a certain zone (A) the prevalent etiological agent was Coxsackie B3 virus. This virus could be isolated from the feces, exudate or cerebrospinal fluid of some diseased children. At the same time, the appearance of neutralizing antibodies to Coxsackie B3 virus or significant titer increases were observed in 20 of the 25 children tested serologically in zone A.

Dolutegravir and rifampicin are often used together when treating patients coinfected with HIV and tuberculosis. Here we report on the development and comprehensive evaluations of an mRNA vaccine for chronic hepatitis B (CHB) treatment. In two different HBV carrier mouse models generated by viral vector-mediated HBV transfection (pAAV-HBV1.2 and rAAV8-HBV1.3), this vaccine demonstrates sufficient and persistent virological suppression, and robust immunogenicity in terms of induction of strong innate immune activation, high-level virus-specific antibodies, memory B cells and T cells. mRNA platform therefore holds prospects for therapeutic vaccine development to combat CHB.
