AIM: To evaluate the effect of symmetrical arc incision correcting corneal astigmatism in femtosecond laser-assisted phacoemulsification (FLACS).
METHODS: This study enrolled patients with cataract combined with regular corneal astigmatism of >0.75 D, who underwent FLACS. Symmetrical arc incision was set at 8 mm diameter and 85% depth. We report the two cases in which femtosecond laser (FSL) technology used to manage visually significant retained host's Descemet's membrane (RHDM) after penetrating keratoplasty (PKP). Balloon-based catheter ablation including visually guided laser balloon (VGLB) has been adopted a first line therapeutic strategy for the patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Recently, the roof area ablation beyond pulmonary vein (PV) isolation (PVI) using cryoballoon has been described as an effective therapy for the patients with persistent AF. PURPOSE: This retrospective cohort study presents a group of patients who underwent laser therapy for retinopathy of prematurity and presented with delayed anterior segment complications.
METHODS: The charts of infants treated with laser photocoagulation for retinopathy of prematurity at our institution between 1988 and 2020 were reviewed. The data extracted included demographics, treatment and clinical examination findings, and those on visual acuity, surgical procedures, and cycloplegic refraction. The inclusion criteria were documented anterior segment changes during the follow-up period.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the long-term effect of laser trabeculoplasty (LTP) in patients randomized to multi-treatment in the Glaucoma Intensive Treatment Study (GITS).
METHODS: Patients with untreated newly diagnosed open-angle glaucoma were treated with three intraocular pressure (IOP)-lowering substances for 1 week and then 360° argon or selective LTP was performed. IOP was measured just before LTP and repeatedly during the 60-month study period. Our previous report on 12 months follow-up data revealed no effect of LTP in eyes having an IOP <15 mmHg before the laser treatment.
