Dendritic cells (DCs) encompass several subsets that are essential for shaping immune responses. Here, we present a protocol for ex vivo functional analysis and purification of DC subsets from blood and secondary lymphoid organs using flow cytometry. We describe the steps for isolating mononuclear cells from blood, lymph nodes, and spleen. A man in his 60s developed herpes zoster ophthalmicus (HZO) with secondary preseptal cellulitis after receiving platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections for androgenetic alopecia. Nivolumab plus ipilimumab is one of the first-line treatments for advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but the safety and efficacy in patients on hemodialysis (HD) is unclear. We herein report a patient with NSCLC on HD in whom nivolumab and ipilimumab were initiated. We observed general deterioration and enlarged lesions, followed by a long-term response.
