Crystalloids and colloids are used in prehospital fluid resuscitation to replace blood loss and preserve tissue perfusion until definite surgical control of bleeding can be achieved. PURPOSE: Since 1989, we have used the complete primary repair of exstrophy surgical technique to reconstruct the genitourinary system of children born with the exstrophy-epispadias complex based on the assumption that this complex represents a malformation. We initially reported using this technique in 1999. A model of lung inflammation was developed in Brown Norway rats. Intense lung eosinophilia was induced by a single intravenous injection of Sephadex G-200 particles.
