Medial temporal lobe encodes cognitive maps of real-world social networks.

Humans routinely solve social problems by navigating densely interconnected networks-gossiping strategically, brokering across cliques, and coordinating with allies. Yet, the neural representations supporting such complex navigation remain undocumented, leaving a crucial gap in our understanding of the mechanisms underlying flexible social cognition. We combine computational modeling with fMRI and a longitudinal measurement of a large, real-world social network (N = 187) to show that the medial temporal lobe encodes an abstract cognitive map of long-range connectivity in the broader network. Psychological well-being of identity-release egg donation parents with infants.

STUDY QUESTION: What are the psychological health, relationship quality and perceived social support outcomes of heterosexual couples who have conceived an infant through identity-release egg donation? SUMMARY ANSWER: Parents' scores on all measures were within the normal range. Egg donation mothers had poorer perceived social support, and egg donation fathers had less optimal psychological health than a comparison group of IVF parents, although these differences were associated with the older age of egg donation parents, rather than being an effect of family type. WHAT IS KNOWN ALREADY: The…

The Women's Wellness with Type 2 Diabetes Programme: Feasibility of an online peer support and goal-setting intervention for midlife women.

OBJECTIVE: The Women's Wellness with Type 2 Diabetes Programme (WWDP) is a complex intervention, encouraging positive lifestyle behaviours to enhance wellness outcomes. This study evaluated the feasibility of delivering the WWDP+ and its evaluation procedures and assessed physical and psychosocial outcomes in midlife women to inform the design of a future randomised controlled trial. METHODS: A s

This study aimed to identify and prioritize an existing evidence-based intervention for adaptation to support HIV disclosure decision-making among people living with HIV (PLWH) in Georgia. METHODS: We used the Nominal Group Technique (NGT), a structured consensus method,
