This study was undertaken to determine whether immunostaining with the monoclonal antibodies Ki-67 and MIB1 is of use in the distinction of tuboendometrial metaplasia from endocervical adenocarcinoma and adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS) on formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue. Using labelled streptavidin-biotin (LSAB) method, we examined the expression of nucleoside diphosphate kinase(NDPK), the product of metastasis suppressor gene nm23, in human lung cancer. Of 88 patients tested, 48 (54.5%) showed positive staining. The positive staining rate was higher in adenocarcinoma (28/42, 66.7%) than in squamous cell carcinoma (20/46, 43.5%; P < 0.05). Paraffin sections of 13 cases of Paget's disease (six mammary and seven extra-mammary) were investigated with mono- and polyclonal anti-carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and with monoclonal anti-human milk fat globule membrane antigen (HMFG). Microglia in different layers of the rat olfactory bulb expressed a variety of membrane antigens except for CD4 (OX-35). Muscle-specific kinase (MuSK) autoantibodies from myasthenia gravis patients can block the activation of MuSK in vitro and/or reduce the postsynaptic localization of MuSK.
