The expression cloning of a cDNA for globotriaosylceramide (Gb3)/CD77 synthase (alpha1,4-galactosyltransferase) was achieved using an anti-Gb3 antibody and mouse L cells as a recipient cell line for the transfection. PURPOSE: An analysis of the structure and expression of p53 in fibroblasts from patients with ataxia telangiectasia (AT) is presented.
METHODS AND MATERIALS: p53 status in primary and SV40 T antigen-transformed AT cell lines was analyzed using immunocytochemistry and by sequencing with the dideoxynucleotide termination method. We report the effects of human recombinant gamma interferon (gamma-IFN) on the expression of bullous pemphigoid (BP) antigens by human cultured keratinocytes. Secondary epidermal cell cultures were grown on 3T3 mouse fibroblasts; when confluent, some cultures were maintained in control medium while others were exposed to various concentrations of gamma-IFN (100, 200, 400 U/ml) for 14 days. Soluble substances of psoriatic scales (Pso-exts) were analysed immunologically to detect immune complex (IC) related to the immune reactions in psoriatic lesions and compared with extracts of scales from a patient with erythroderma due to pityriasis rubra pilaris (PRP-exts) as control.
