Patch tests in 1000 cases of contact allergic dermatitis observed between 1972 and 1978 are recorded in detail, and compared in general with patch tests in a previously recorded 1000 cases of contact allergic dermatitis between 1964 adn 1972. An allergic contact dermatitis from fluorouracil developed in two patients 8 and 18 days respectively after institution of topical fluorouracil therapy. The character of the usual irritant dermatitis changed to that of an allergic dermatitis. Epicutaneous patch tests and intradermal tests with fluorourcil were reactive. Histologic specimens of positive test sites revealed the changes expected in allergic contact dermatitis. Twelve control subjects failed to react to intradermal fluorouracil tests.

We patch tested 13 beauticians with hand dermatitis between 1982 and 1986. They were all young female novice beauticians or those in training. Oncostatin M (OSM) receptor beta (OSMRβ), encoded by OSMR, is a cytokine receptor subunit required for signaling by OSM and IL-31. Atopic dermatitis (AD) in infants is associated with increased risk of developing other allergic diseases, including asthma. This progression is known as atopic march (AM). Four hundred children, up to the age of 12 years, attending dermatological outpatients' department (OPD) in Irwin group of hospitals, Jamnagar were studied in detail. A man in his 20s with a background of severe atopic eczema presented with a 24-hour history of intense pain, redness and blurred vision in his left eye. The day before symptom onset, the patient recalls applying Epimax to above the left eyelid. Examination of the left eye revealed findings consistent with a presentation suggestive of chemical injury, demonstrating a total corneal epithelial defect with associated stromal haze. The patient initially declined topical corticosteroid therapy due to prior complications with steroid-induced dermatitis that had necessitated prolonged hospitalisation.
