We report six cases of pulmonary dirofilariasis diagnosed at our laboratory with clinical and pathological features. The nodules of dirofilariasis were round in three cases as previously reported, however dumbbell-shaped in two cases. The nodule did not attach to the pleura in four cases. Microscopically, the nodules were granulomas composed of central coagulation necrosis and peripheral fibrosis with round cell infiltration, histiocytes, and multinucleated giant cells. Necrotic pulmonary artery with single or multiple sections of degenerated nematode was observed in the center of the nodule.

Although the majority of patients with endometrial cancer have a good prognosis, subgroups of individuals are at risk of more aggressive disease. Hemospermia is a common benign condition, but is prevalence remains unknown, and can result from several causes. The etiology is idiopathic in about 50% of cases. The advent of transrectal ultrasonography has afforded the opportunity to best evaluate patients with hemospermia. From June 1987 to June 1993, 42 neonates with Hirschsprung's disease (NHD) were treated with modified Duhamel's procedure. Computed tomographic (CT) scans and medical records of 25 children (age range, 10-18 years) with pathologically proved Crohn disease were reviewed to better define the role of CT in the management of pediatric patients with Crohn disease. Percutaneous treatment of transitional cell carcinoma of the renal pelvis in 4 patients is reported. The clinical and pathologic findings in 11 patients with pneumatosis cystoides intestinalis (PCI) are described. Symptoms were variable but localized to the gastrointestinal tract. A nationwide study on the Meckel syndrome (MS) was carried out covering retrospectively the years 1970-1979 and prospectively the years 1980-1981.
