The unusual case of a patient on peritoneal dialysis who progressively developed onychodystrophy of the hands 2 months after Acinetobacter peritonitis had been reported. The nail disease consisted of acute pseudoclubbing, elkonyxis, severe Beau's lines and onychomadesis and showed spontaneous recovery within 4 months. Although reminiscent of severe Beau's lines and reflex sympathetic dystrophy, this observation shows a peculiar nail disorder of unknown cause.

Accommodative spasm usually encompasses a classical triad of pseudomyopia, esodeviation and pupillary constriction. Accommodative spasm is most often psychogenic in nature; however, it may be associated with other organic diseases of which a rare cause is that of intracranial catheter complications. We report a case of dorsal midbrain syndrome with pseudomyopia in a patient with a blocked ventriculo-peritoneal shunt inserted for aqueductal stenosis. Clinical presentation was unusual in this patient as pseudomyopia occurred with exodeviation and without pupillary constriction.

Three types of drains were tested: (latex-rubber-) Penrose-drains, rubbertube- and silicontube-drains, which were placed in the lower abdomen. A computerized morphometrical investigation was performed on endometriotic tissue from the peritoneum (n = 225) and rectovaginal nodules (n = 65) to compare histologically and stereologically the rectovaginal septum endometriotic nodule to peritoneal endometriosis. As an alternative to bladder mucosa, free grafts of tubularized peritoneum were used as urethral substitutes in a rabbit model of hypospadias. In group 1, six mature rabbits underwent partial penile urethrectomy followed by interposition of a 2-cm-long peritoneal-lined tube graft. A survey in which there were responses from dialysis units caring for approximately 38% of women aged 14-44 receiving continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis in the United States revealed a conception rate of 0.2% per year. A total of 44 pregnancies were identified in women treated with peritoneal dialysis at some time during their pregnancies. Two thirds of pregnancies were complicated by hypertension and one third by severe hypertension.
