Early onset sarcoidosis is a granulomatous disease which is characterized by synovitis, polyarthritis, skin and eye involvement. We report the skeletal features of one patient with a family history and clinical symptoms suggestive of early onset sarcoidosis (EOS) which was confirmed by skin biopsy. The in vitro activities of propolis against 29 strains of dermatophytes were compared with those of terbinafine, itraconazole, ketoconazole, and fluconazole. Minimal inhibitory concentrations (MICs) were determined according to a National Committee for Clinical Laboratory Standards broth microdilution method. Among the systemic antifungals tested, terbinafine was the most potent. Propolis showed important antifungal activity and it merits further investigation as a potentially useful agent for the treatment of dermatophytosis.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relationship between hypermobility and fibromyalgia syndrome (FS) in women. Ninety-three women with FS who met the American College of Rheumatology criteria for FS and 58 healthy women without FS were included in this study. All women were examined for hypermobility by blinded observers using the Beighton criteria. INTRODUCTION: Dysbaric osteonecrosis (DON) is an avascular bone necrosis that can be seen in divers and compressed air workers. Submarine escape instructors constitute a specific group who are exposed to hyperbaric conditions with a constant profile.
METHODS: We screened 21 Turkish Navy submarine escape instructors and evaluated 147 skeletal radiographs for dysbaric osteonecrosis. Two instructors who had suspicious DON lesions on the X-rays underwent examination by MRI of the suspected sites.
