: The study aims to discuss a case of an uncommonly sited rare tumour causing nasal obstruction and a literature review of angioleiomyomas in the nose. A 64-year-old woman presented with blockage of the right nostril, associated with a visible swelling on the undersurface of the alar cartilage, in the lateral wall of the nasal cavity. UNLABELLED: The objective of this study is to perform proteomic analysis of pleomorphic adenoma (PA) in the human parotid gland (PG) with comparison of normal PG. OBJECTIVE: Myoepithelial carcinoma (MC) is a rare malignant neoplasm of the salivary gland. The aim of this study was to analyze the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of MC of the parotid gland.
METHODS: The clinicopathological data of 17 cases of MC of the parotid gland treated in our hospital from 1999 to 2013 were analyzed retrospectively. Of all the 17 patients, 9 cases received radical surgery only, 5 cases received postoperative radiotherapy, 2 cases received preoperative radiotherapy, and one case received chemotherapy. The survival rate was calculated by Kaplan-Meier analysis.

OBJECTIVES: We introduce surgical outcomes regarding 300 cases of robotic thyroidectomy using a bilateral axillo-breast approach (BABA).
METHODS: From April 2010 to October 2013, 300 patients who underwent robotic thyroidectomy were analyzed and compared with 300 cases of open total thyroidectomy. Robotic surgery was performed with a snake retractor to allow for complete central lymph node dissection. We performed robotic surgery using BABA without drains in 170 cases; subfascial dissection was performed to reduce post-operative wound adhesion.

Sixty patients with carcinoma of the piriform fossa were treated with surgery and postoperative irradiation, and 22 other patients with incurable disease were irradiated. All but 2 patients primarily irradiated died within a year. 87% of the 60 patients who were treated by primary surgery had histologically proven lymph node metastases.
