PURPOSE: Solitary fibrous tumors (SFT) are a rare entity of in majority benign neoplasms. Nevertheless, up to 20% of cases show a malignant tendency with local infiltration or metastasis. Commonly arising in the thoracic cavity, only few cases of SFT of the mesorectal tissue have been reported in the literature. BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Tumor of follicular infundibulum (TFI) has been described as a neoplasm - isolated and multiple - and in association with other lesions. Its histopathologic definition is controversial.

Mucinous cystadenocarcinoma (MCAC) with malignant ascites is rare. We report a case of a 28-year-old woman who presented with epigastric pain. The ascites in the Douglas fossa was identified at a nearby gynecology clinic. Computed tomography showed a multiloculated cystic lesion (9.5 × 6.4 cm) in the tail of the pancreas, which was diagnosed as mucinous cystic neoplasm on imaging.
