The SunWise Policy intervention for school-based sun protection: a pilot study.

Skin cancer is highly preventable, but clearly there is a critical need to focus on better ways to disseminate information about known skin cancer prevention. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) SunWise Program is one channel for reaching children, teachers, and school nurses. In a pilot study designed to increase adoption of school-based sun protection policies, 28 schools were randomly assigned to one of three groups: Control, which included the EPA's original SunWise curriculum toolkit; SunWise Policy, which included a revised toolkit emphasizing policy; and SunWise Policy plus

The use of deaf-aid communicators in a Salford Hospital: a failure of communication?

It is estimated that 7.5 million adults in the UK have varying degrees of hearing loss. People with hearing deficits often feel isolated, neglected and can be mistakenly labelled as confused. Responding to this need, ten deaf-aid communicators were purchased for our elderly-care wards. It however became apparent that the aids were being under-used, and to test this observation a survey of ten elderly-care wards was undertaken. Fifty-six nurses were questioned about their knowledge and use of the communicators. Only 32% knew the communicators were on their ward. Of these 32%, only 61% knew wher

Recommendations for the effective use of T-cell-redirecting therapies: a Canadian consensus statement.

BackgroundT-cell-redirecting therapies, such as bispecific antibodies and chimeric antigen receptor T-cells, exploit the cytotoxic capabilities of the immune system to destroy cells expressing specific surface antigens, including malignant cells. These therapies have demonstrated unprecedented rates, depth, and duration of responses in relapsed and refractory multiple myeloma. However, there are significant challenges in implementing these therapies into practice, which require multidisciplinary and multicenter coordination and significant healthcare resources to effectively manage these patie

The American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN) Guidelines for Advanced Practice Providers in Interventional Spine and Pain Management Practice.

BackgroundChronic pain management has advanced with minimally invasive interventions that reduce surgical trauma and recovery time. Specialized interventional spine clinics rely on multidisciplinary approaches to improve outcomes. Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and clinical nurse specialists, play increasingly important roles in these settings. However, standardized guidance on APP integration, training, and scope of practice remains limited. This guideline, developed by an expert panel, is the first to address APP roles in intervention

Innovative behavior among clinical nurses: empirical level stratification and associated factors in a cross-sectional study in Zhejiang Province, China.

BACKGROUND: Innovation in nursing practice is closely related to quality of care, yet nurses working in high-demand clinical environments may show relatively low levels of innovative behavior. Previous studies have primarily described nurses' innovative behavior using total scores, with less attention to individual heterogeneity. This study used latent profile analysis (LPA) to identify empirically derived levels of innovative behavior among clinical nurses and to examine their statistical associations with organizational justice, job embeddedness, and other resource-related factors. METHODS:
