This is a report of the fifth case of pelvic lipomatosis in Japan. A 52-year-old man presented himself in our hospital with a complaint of left lower abdominal pain on August 28, 1988. At that time, physical examination was unremarkable with the exception of mild obesity. The excretory urogram and retrograde pyelogram revealed left hydroureteronephrosis with tapering of the left lower ureter. We present a modified technique for feminization genitoplasty, which combines the main features of the Hendren and Crawford pull-through operation and the Kogan reduction clitoroplasty. We studied 50 patients with chronic abacterial prostatitis as defined by the Stamey procedure via transrectal prostatic ultrasound and subsequent transperineal biopsy of the abnormal areas of the prostate to ascertain the role of Chlamydia trachomatis organisms (chlamydiae) in this condition. In polytraumatized patients with fracture of the pelvis and injury to the other organs, the clinical picture is dominated by a hypovolemic shock, which is difficult to control. Eighty-one cases of urinary tract calculi in Nigerians seen at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Enugu, Nigeria, over a period of five years are reviewed. A relative incidence of 13 per 100,000 was established. At the time of presentation, 36 stones were found in the bladder, 21 in the kidneys, 20 in the ureters, one in the prostate and 3 in the urethra. Five patients had calculi at multiple sites. This paper reviews 165 cases of lower urinary obstruction in infancy. The commonest lesions were posterior urethral valves (91) and ectopic ureterocele (34), stenosis or atresia of the urethra (8), and bladder neck obstruction (6). BACKGROUND: Retrograde urethrogram (RUG) remains the gold standard for diagnosing urethral stricture disease, however no widely available diagnostic modality currently quantifies stricture characteristics using cross-sectional area or tissue compliance.
