A verrucous carcinoma is a subtype of well-differentiated squamous-cell carcinomas, arising in the vagina, vulva, and uterine cervix. But a verrucous carcinoma very rarely arises in the uterine endometrium. The present paper presents a case of a verrucous carcinoma of the endometrium that is described in association with the tumor marker SCC; this paper also includes a review of the relevant literature.

Penetration of fluconazole into female genital tissues was examined. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the various factors in an in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) program which may affect the clinical pregnacy rate.
METHODS: A retrospective study was done on 559 IVF-ET cycles from 1992-Nov. 1995. The indication for treatment was bilateral tubal blockage. The chi 2 analysis of single factor variants with SPSS-PC + V3.0 was used for statistics.

Ectopic pregnancies after in vitro fertilization (IVF) are more frequent because of the development of assisted reproductive technology. This retrospective study analysed 6 cases of ectopic pregnancy after IVF from the "clinique du Parc" (Tours) during a 3-year period. OBJECTIVE: To determine the effect of the presence of a unilateral or bilateral hydrosalpinx on the outcome with IVF-ET.
DESIGN: Retrospective analysis of clinical and laboratory data.
SETTING: Hospital-based private IVF center.

All physicians participating in the workup of an infertile patient should be aware of the nonspecificity of the computed tomographic or sonographic finding of a complex adnexal cystic lesion occurring following transvaginal oocyte retrieval for in vitro fertilization. Persistent fever and leukocytosis in conjunction with such lesions should lead to an early presumptive diagnosis of tuboovarian abscess with prompt administration of antibiotic therapy.

A 26-year-old woman underwent operative hysteroscopy to remove a polypoid lesion, responsible for recurrent abnormal uterine bleeding. The polypoid mass was 4 cm long, smooth, with dilated vessels. OBJECTIVE: To determine the characteristics and long-term outcome of women succeeding or failing expectant management of ectopic pregnancy (EP).
DESIGN: Prospective, defined protocol.
SETTING: University-affiliated gynecology department.
PATIENTS: We used a protocol that selected women with laparoscopic confirmed ectopic tubal pregnancy and declining plasma hCG values. Over a 5-year period, 60 women representing 20.1% of EPs fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Women were followed with serial hCG testing and transvaginal ultrasound.

The reproductive prognosis of 115 women desiring pregnancy who underwent surgery for ectopic pregnancy between 1985 and 1990 at the Clinica Luigi Mangiagalli, was analysed after a median follow-up period of 26 months (range 2-83). Probability of reproductive events was assessed by a product-limit model.
