Bronchoplasty is frequently required for radical resection of central typical carcinoid tumours. As sleeve bronchoplasty can be a complex procedure, an accurate evaluation of the tumour location is mandatory. We report a case of a 57-year-old male who presented an anterior mediastinal mass suspicious of thymoma by chest computed tomography. Oncoplastic techniques extend the scope for breast conserving surgery by combining an extensive local excision with a simultaneous reconstruction of the defect to avoid local deformity. A one-stage procedure to restore the cervical part of the esophagus and laryngopharynx included extended surgery for advanced cancer of the larynx and laryngopharynx and grafting a free revascularized small intestine segment using microvascular technique. Free small intestine transplant proved well-fed by sufficiently large branches of the external carotid artery, and normal venous drainage was retained. The transplant proved biologically best suitable for such type of plastic surgery. Treatment results should be considered promising.

We presented 2 cases of lipogranuloma of the cheek following autologous fat injection. Facial autologous fat injection for soft tissue augmentation is a frequently used technique in the field of plastic surgery. Although this procedure was thought to be a safe procedure without foreign body reactions, there had been several case reports on lipogranuloma following autologous fat injection, especially into the periorbital area. In our cases, we experienced delayed lipogranulomas of the cheek area and successfully treated them with perioral excision.

The management of wound complications following metastatic spine tumor surgery (MSTS) remains a formidable task.
