BACKGROUND: Bullous pemphigoid (BP) is an autoimmune subepidermal blistering disease.
OBJECTIVE: To review the literature on radiation therapy (RT)-associated BP.
METHODS: A review of the English language literature on patients who developed BP during and up to 10 years post RT was performed.
RESULTS: 29 patients were reported. 25 (86.2%) were women, 84% of whom had received RT for breast cancer. Three patients were male (10.3%). BACKGROUND: Primary ocular adnexal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma (POAML) is a rare disease. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the treatment outcome and patterns of failure of patients with early-stage POAML treated with radiotherapy.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: From 1995 to 2008, 53 patients with early-stage POAML were reviewed. Tumors were categorized as either superficial or mass-forming type. In principle, superficial lesions (n=11) were treated with 24 Gy, while the mass-forming lesions (n=42) were irradiated with 30 Gy. The median follow-up period was 3.9 years.

BACKGROUND: Interstitial photodynamic therapy (iPDT) can be an option in the management of locally recurrent base of tongue cancer after (chemo)radiation treatment. The purpose of the current study was to develop a technique to implant light sources into the tumor tissue.
METHODS: Twenty patients with previously irradiated locally recurrent base of tongue cancers who were not candidates for salvage surgery or reirradiation or refused these therapies were included in this study. BACKGROUND: Epithelial salivary gland neoplasms are rare in children. Malignant tumors account for 30% to 50% of cases in the pediatric age group, with mucoepidermoid carcinoma as the most common histology.

BACKGROUND: The efficacy of concurrent intra-arterial infusion chemoradiotherapy for adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) has been described in only a few reports. Herein, we report on 2 patients with unresectable ACC of the maxillary sinus treated with this approach.
