Recent studies have suggested that the presence of hydrosalpinx has a negative effect on in-vitro fertilization (IVF) outcome, with markedly diminished implantation and pregnancy rates, and increased early pregnancy loss. The current classification of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA) consists of several distinct subsets. To study the incidence of Chlamydia trachomatis (C.T.) infection among women, we obtained swab (endocervical columnar cells) from the uterine cervix of 1,041 women attending the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Gunma University Hospital. A study was carried out on the presence of antibodies to C. trachomatis in women with ectopic pregnancy, established during laparotomy. Pathohistological examination discovered that ectopic pregnancy occurred due to chronic salpingitis in a larger part of the women. We report a retrospective series of 20 cases of peri-hepatitis diagnosed using the laparoscope. They were all young women who were nulliparous or primiparous. In eight cases, the dominant clinical picture was of acute cholecystitis. In the other cases, asymptomatic peri-hepatitis was discovered when the laparoscope had been used to try to diagnose acute salpingitis. Infection from Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) in men with non gonococcal urethritis (NGU) and in women with cervicitis has been investigated by means of Chlamidiazime and serological tests. 32.5% of 120 men with NGU and 8.3% of 12 men with dysuria were positive to Chlamydiazine test. We performed a case-control study of the effect of exposure to Chlamydia trachomatis on the risk for tubal pregnancy. Sixty women with tubal pregnancies and 60 matched control women with normal second-trimester intrauterine pregnancies were studied. PURPOSE OF REVIEW: Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are a significant global health concern, with many cases going undiagnosed due to asymptomatic infections. Traditional diagnostic methods, such as culture and serology, have limitations in sensitivity, specificity, and turnaround time. Molecular diagnostics, particularly PCR-based approaches, offer significant advantages, including improved detection rates and the potential for syndromic testing.
