Adult T-cell leukemia/lymphoma (ATLL), an aggressive neoplasm etiologically associated with human T-lymphotropic virus type-1 (HTLV-1), is resistant to treatment. In this study, we examined the effects of a new inhibitor of deacetylase enzymes, LBH589, on ATLL cells. Myc activation has been implicated in the pathogenesis of hepatoblastoma (HB), a rare embryonal neoplasm derived from liver progenitor cells. Here, microRNA (miR) expression profiling of 65 HBs evidenced differential patterns related to developmental stage and Myc activity. OBJECTIVES: Tumors originating in the maxillary sinus are relativeLy rare. The aim of this article is to review the indications, diagnosis and treatment of patients with maxillary tumors operated at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center during the period 1999 - 2008.
METHODS: A total of 174 patients underwent surgery due to neoplasms originating in the maxillary sinus: 118 patients (68%) had malignant and 54 (32%) had benign tumors.

Sinonasal teratocarcinosarcoma (SNTCS) is a rare and aggressive neoplasm characterized by the combination of malignant teratoma and carcinosarcoma. Sinonasal teratocarcinosarcoma usually is found mainly among adults, and the common original sites of SNTCS were nasal cavities and paranasal sinuses. We report a case of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) presenting as severe jaundice. The patient, a 59-year-old man, was found to have abnormal liver function, including an elevated total bilirubin level (13.5 mg/dl) with hepatosplenomegaly, but no detectable lymphadenopathy. We evaluated the degree of tubular differentiation in 172 samples of invasive ductal breast cancer in order to determine numerical thresholds for histological breast cancer grading.
