Studies were performed on the reconstitution of the immune response to Shigella paradysenteriae and sheep erythrocytes in sublethally irradiated mice by the injection of normal peritoneal macrophages with and without pre-incubation with antigen. BACKGROUND: Contemporary practices for blood pressure (BP) management in peritoneal dialysis (PD) remain poorly characterized despite cardiovascular disease and hypertension being highly prevalent in patients on PD.
METHODS: We conducted a national survey of nephrologists in the United States with publicly available email addresses affiliated with the 150 ACGME-accredited adult nephrology training programs. BACKGROUND: The neutrophil percentage-to-albumin ratio (NPAR) is a novel inflammatory marker. This study explores its association with cognitive impairment (CI) in peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients.
METHODS: In this cross-sectional study, 152 PD patients were categorized into CI (Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score <26) or non-CI (MoCA ≥26) groups.

The success of peritoneal dialysis depends on the presence of a safe and well-functioning peritoneal access. The ideal catheter should be easy to place, durable, comfortable, and practical to use, while limiting the aesthetic impact and minimizing associated infectious as well as mechanical complications. RATIONALE & OBJECTIVE: Unemployment is common among patients receiving maintenance dialysis, and peritoneal dialysis (PD) may better facilitate employment and employer-sponsored health insurance compared with hemodialysis (HD).
