Gate-Tunable GeSe/MoSe2 Heterojunctions for In-Sensor Image Processing.

The physical separation of sensing and processing units in traditional vision systems creates latency and energy-efficiency bottlenecks. In-sensor computing, capable of processing visual information directly in the analog domain, offers a promising solution. Herein, we report a high-performance, gate-tunable GeSe/MoSe2 van der Waals heterostructure designed for simultaneous light sensing and in-sensor computing. By engineering a Type-II band alignment at the heterointerface, the device achieves efficient charge separation, thereby enabling the suppression of dark current and effective gate tun

The angular gyrus serves as an interface between the non-lexical reading network and the semantic system: evidence from dynamic causal modeling.

Understanding encoded language, such as written words, requires multiple cognitive processes that act in a parallel and interactive fashion. These processes and their interactions, however, are not fully understood. Various conceptual and methodical approaches including computational modeling and neuroimaging have been applied to better understand the neural underpinnings of these complex processes in the human brain. In this study, we tested different predictions of cortical interactions that derived from computational models for reading using dynamic causal modeling. Morse code was used as a

Functional brain network identification in opioid use disorder using machine learning analysis of resting-state fMRI BOLD signals.

Understanding the neurobiology of opioid use disorder (OUD) using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) may help inform treatment strategies to improve patient outcomes. Recent literature suggests time-frequency characteristics of rs-fMRI blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) signals may offer complementary information to traditional analysis techniques. However, existing studies of OUD analyze BOLD signals using measures computed across all time points. This study, for the first time in the literature, employs data-driven machine learning (ML) for time-frequency ana

Neural Network Prediction of Response Factors for Extractables and Leachables in Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices.

Ensuring the safety of patients using pharmaceuticals and medical devices through chemical characterization requires accurate estimation of extractables and leachables to ensure tolerable risk from unintentional exposure to these chemicals. However, this is complicated by variability in chemical responses, particularly with mass spectrometry methods. High-quality relative response factor predictions provide the opportunity for both expedited and more accurate quantitation in extractables and leachables analyses. In-silico prediction models were developed to test a wide variety of compounds, wh

Automated volumetric analysis of the inner ear fluid space from hydrops magnetic resonance imaging using 3D neural networks.

Due to the development of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging processing technology, image-based identification of endolymphatic hydrops (EH) has played an important role in understanding inner ear illnesses, such as Meniere's disease or fluctuating sensorineural hearing loss. We segmented the inner ear, consisting of the cochlea, vestibule, and semicircular canals, using a 3D-based deep neural network model for accurate and automated EH volume ratio calculations. We built a dataset of MR cisternography (MRC) and HYDROPS-Mi2 stacks labeled with the segmentation of the perilymph fluid space and end
