Buprenorphine is a semi-synthetic opioid approved for pain and opioid use disorder (OUD). A challenge in its initiation is the risk of precipitated withdrawal if a large sublingual buprenorphine dose is administered too soon after a full mu opioid receptor (MOR) agonist.
