The left gastroepiploic artery (LGEA) is rarely described. The aim of this study is to report the fashion of its origin considering the greatly surgical interest of the short gastric vessels in the spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy with excision of splenic pedicle. About 79 fresh cadaveric pieces we dissect and opacified the LGEA to specify its origin based on the Pinus's classification. BACKGROUND: A surgical and anatomic approach to the skull base using the transmaxillary route is presented. This route is well-known and used for a long time for sinus conditions.
METHOD: This study was performed on injected cadavers. This study describes step by step this approach in microsurgical conditions following a vital lead: the infraorbital nerve.

OBJECTS: The aim of this work was to determine the frequency and the location of the degenerative lesions of the hallucal metatarsophalangeal joint in an elderly population. Our results help us to precise the anatomic characteristics of that articular complex.
METHODS: Our material comprised 21 feet from embalmed cadaver specimens. We studied the morphometrical parameters for the anatomic description of the first metatarsophalangeal joint of the forefoot. After complete dissection, a specific articular zone-mapping was made with a quantitative evaluation of the chondral lesions.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: The purpose of our study has been to describe the pre-operatively MR Imaging appearance of masses in the parotid gland which may be sources of clinical and radiological confusion.
METHODS: Sixty-eight adults patients with a parotid mass (39 female, 29 male) has been prospectively investigated. T1-weighted, T2-weighted, diffusion-weighted and contrast-enhanced dynamic MR images were performed by using a 1.5 or 1 T MR Imaging unit (Philips Gyroscan Intera 1.5 T. Siemens Expert 1 T). All patients underwent a parotidectomy with histopathologic analysis.

Heterochromatin confined to pericentromeric and secondary constriction regions plays a major role in morphological variation of chromosome 9, because of its size and affinity for pericentric inversion. Anatomical variations of the frontal sinuses that may play a role in the correlation between frontal sinusitis and orbital complications are described. There were used 18 cadavers during routine educational cadaver dissections, one month after theirs withdrawal from the formol basin. In our regions malaria is endemic and intraguteal injection is a common procedure. One unfortunate complication of that procedure appeared to be a sciatic nerve injury.
