Cyclic AMP (cAMP) receptor protein (Crp) is an important transcriptional regulator of Yersinia pestis Expression of crp increases during pneumonic plague as the pathogen depletes glucose and forms large biofilms within lungs. To better understand control of Y. pestis Crp, we determined a 1.8-Å crystal structure of the protein-cAMP complex. We found that compared to Escherichia coli Crp, C helix amino acid substitutions in Y. pestis Crp did not impact the cAMP dependency of Crp to bind DNA promoters. To investigate Y. pestis Crp-regulated genes during plague pneumonia, we performed RNA sequenci

Prostate cancer (PCa) stands as a leading cause of cancer-related mortality among men, with treatment-induced neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) posing a challenge as an ARPI-resistant subtype. The role of transcription factors (TFs) in PCa progression and NEPC transdifferentiation remains inadequately understood, underscoring a critical gap in current research. In this study, an internal Z score-based approach is developed to identify lineage-specific TF profiles in prostatic adenocarcinoma and NEPC for a nuanced understanding of TF expression dynamics. Distinct TF profiles for adenocarcin

African swine fever (ASF) has become a global pandemic due to inadequate prevention and control measures, posing a significant threat to the swine industry. Despite the approval of a single vaccine in Vietnam, no antiviral drugs against the ASF virus (ASFV) are currently available. Aloperine (ALO), a quinolizidine alkaloid extracted from the seeds and leaves of bitter beans, exhibits various biological functions, including anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and antiviral activities. In this study, we found that ALO could inhibit ASFV replication in MA-104, PK-15, 3D4/21, and WSL cells in a dose-d

Atopic dermatitis (AD) and psoriasis are among the most common chronic inflammatory skin diseases. Although AD and psoriasis are distinguished using clinical criteria, the lesions of these two diseases are sometimes highly similar, making diagnosis difficult. In addition, the mechanisms underlying these two diseases are not fully clear. Here, we aimed to identify potential genes and regulatory mechanisms in AD and psoriasis patients to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of AD and psoriasis. The GSE121212 dataset was obtained from the NCBI Gene Expression Omnibus database and weighted gene co-e
