A 18-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare was referred for colic. Upon arrival, lethargy, blindness, head pressing, ataxia, and circling were the main clinical signs. On rectal examination a hard mass and oedema around the cranial mesenteric artery were palpated. Plasma liver enzyme activities and the ammonia level were elevated. Benign tumours of the extrahepatic bile ducts are rare, mostly occurring in the common bile duct and hepatic ducts. Solitary papillomas occur mainly in the gallbladder or at the ampulla of Vater. Tumours of the cystic duct are extremely rare, and we are unaware of any reports of solitary papilloma of the cystic duct. Such a case in a 72-year-old woman is presented.

Hepatobiliary and pancreatic ascariasis occur due to migration of the round worm ascaris lumbricoides through the bile duct orifice finally reaching the common bile duct, main pancreatic duct, intrahepatic ducts or gallbladder. We report a case of complete transmural migration through the colic wall, followed by spontaneous defecation, of a surgical sponge left behind in the abdominal cavity (gossypiboma) during a vaginal hysterectomy with oophorectomy. The process results from encapsulation of the surgical sponge with fistulization through the colic wall. No functional damage followed this defecation because either the fistula closed early, or the sponge remained temporarily entrapped in a colic fold. The diagnosis was based on echography and computed tomography.

A 31-year-old female presented with acute left flank pain; she had a C/S at the postpartum day 24. Ureteral stone was suspected but ultrasound examination was normal. Then Doppler ultrasound revealed a trombus in left renal vein and inferior vena cava. Contrast enhanced MDCT scan showed swelled and nonfunctional left kidney, a trombus including distal part of left ovarian vein, left renal vein, and inferior vena cava. We started anticoagulation treatment. Further examination revealed diagnosis of chronic myeloproliferative disease. The trombus was completely recanalized at 3-month followup.
