This study examines the relationship between women's gender role attitudes and their perceptions of economic abuse. The data were collected from 386 married and divorced women living in Yalova, Türkiye, using self-administered questionnaires and validated measurement scales. Regression analysis revealed a significant negative association between gender role attitudes and perceived economic abuse. Psychiatric interviews were conducted with 55 male Army HIV+ patients. These soldiers were diagnosed in an early stage of HIV, and were not clinically demented. Sixty-four percent were given diagnoses of a depressive disorder by a psychiatrist, while 42% self-reported depression. Fifty-five percent had a history of suicidal thoughts since their diagnosis of HIV, but only one soldier was actively suicidal. Forty seven women food handlers who were considered to be at high risk of HIV infection in Thika town of Central Province of Kenya were studied. The women were interviewed individually for information related to their social characteristics and sexual behaviour. The prevalence and symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) were studied in a survey using a random selection of fertile women (n = 1,852). The prevalence of PMS was 72.8%. 7.5% of the women with PMS felt they needed to see a physician. The survey responses from this latter group were compared with the answers from the remaining women with PMS. The symptoms differ significantly in many respects between the groups. An analysis of marital histories from World Fertility Survey data in Colombia, Panama, and Peru indicates a high level of union dissolution: the probabilities of a first union ending by separation within twenty years of the onset of union equal .27, .40, and .18 in the three countries respectively. The objective of this study was to identify factors associated with antisocial behavior in 1,543 Marines who deployed to combat zones in support of conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan during 2002-2007. Five factors were associated with antisocial behavior in multivariate analyses: post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms, deployment-related stressors, combat exposure, younger age, and being divorced.
