The influence of both moisture and heat on the stability of aspirin was investigated by a single pair of experiments, one with programmed humidity control and the other non-isothermal, rather than many standard isothermal studies, each at constant relative humidity. We have investigated the mechanism of splenic irradiation-induced granulocytopenia in two patients with myelofibrosis and marked splenomegaly. Serial assays were performed for circulating granulocyte-monocyte progenitors capable of colony formation in vitro (CFU-C). For comparison, similar studies were performed on two patients receiving whole brain irradiation for glioma. Clinical study on bacampicillin (BAPC) granules was performed in 20 children with infectious diseases. Patients treated with BAPC granules were 10 cases of scarlet fever, 3 cases of pertussis, 3 cases of Salmonella enteritis and 4 cases of acute enteritis. Clinical results were excellent in 2, good in 9, fair in 3, poor in 4 and unknown in 2. No side effect was observed.

OBJECTIVE: Atopic keratoconjunctivitis (AKC) is a potentially blinding disease. It is usually associated with atopic dermatitis that has been managed successfully with systemic cyclosporine A (CSA) in some severe forms of the disease. In this study, the authors evaluated systemic CSA therapy in patients with severe AKC.

Plasma levels and blood pressure responses to two dosage regimens of phenylpropanolamine (PPA)-25-mg, immediate-release tablets three times per day and a 75-mg, controlled-release capsule once per day--were compared in 14 normal subjects.
