Results of studying of features of the dentals status at 81 children in the age of 9-10 years, suffering chronic gastroduodenit are submitted. High prevalence and intensity of the basic oral diseases, prevalence decompensation currents caries process, an unsatisfactory and bad level of hygiene of an oral cavity, presence of a dental stone are established. In system of rehabilitation of children, ill chronic gastroduodenit, supervision gastroenterologist and the dentist which should be carried out by way of double difference control is necessary.

An elevated urinary 5-hydroxyindoleacetic acid (U5-HIAA) is typically thought of to be related to carcinoid syndrome. It is widely known that several other etiologies can cause high levels; however, those etiologies typically cause mild elevations. We present a unique situation of a highly elevated U5-HIAA not because of a neuroendocrine tumor. Gastroenterologists need to have an approach in mind if they encounter this predicament. We aim to raise awareness of this situation to emphasize the importance of a thorough medication history and avoid unnecessary testing.

The bread clip is one of the most insidious foreign body ingested. The bread clip poses a serious medical danger to patients yet may often fail to manifest itself clinically on initial ingestion. We present a case series of three patients with bread clips ingestions that were managed in the Gold Coast University Hospital, Queensland, Australia between 2020 and 2021. Bread clips are not always readily identifiable depending on imaging and the management of these patients will often require a multidisciplinary approach between the surgeons, gastroenterologists and radiologists.

One of the common lesions in Crohn's colitis is erythema nodosum, a septal panniculitis that may appear before diagnosis or in conjunction with flare up. We report a case of Crohn's colitis where the presenting sign was neutrophilic lobular panniculitis with few granulomas. The possibility that this case represents a forme fruste of metastatic Crohn's is suggested. As skin biopsies are not usually performed by gastroenterologists in erythema nodosum-like skin lesions in Crohn's patients it may well be that the incidence of lobular panniculitis is higher than reported in the literature.

The prevalence of Helicobacter pylori in Western societies has rapidly declined, as reflected by the consistent decline in peptic ulcer disease. Nevertheless, there remains a cohort of the elderly population with a high prevalence of H. pylori infection. While the benefits of H. pylori eradication for H. pylori-associated duodenal ulcer disease is beyond dispute, a number of contentious areas remains. The aim of the present paper is to review the benefits of H. pylori eradication in clinical situations that may confront the non-gastroenterologist.

A 65-year-old man was consulted because of buckling of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) probe in the esophagus. A forward-viewing endoscope was inserted to the esophagus alongside the TEE probe. TEE probe was pushed to the stomach while the retroflexed tip portion was pushed by the endoscope in order to prevent retroflexion. In the past year, there have been many advances in the area of small bowel physiology and pathology. More than 1500 papers were assessed in preparation for this review. Some were selected and reviewed, with a particular focus on presenting clinically useful information for the practising gastroenterologist. Relevant review articles have been highlighted, and important clinical learning points have been stressed. The topics are varied in scope, and wherever possible show a logical progression from basic physiology to pathophysiology to clinical disorders and management.
