OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the employment trajectories of individuals with mental disorders, including those with a substance use disorder, who received individual placement and support (IPS) services.
METHODS: A growth mixture modeling analysis of Supported Employment Demonstration study data was used to identify distinct employment trajectories. The analysis focused on determinants of variations in work participation across different trajectories of 1,656 study participants.

OBJECTIVE: Maternal substance use during pregnancy is a common modifiable risk factor for poor birth outcomes, and is associated with long term psychological risks to offspring. As self concept is known to affect substance use behaviors in non-pregnant women, we hypothesized that self concept as a provider may be particularly salient to cessation of use during pregnancy. To isolate psychological processes specific to pregnancy from those associated with the transition to parenthood, we examined birth mothers who made adoption placements participating in the Early Growth and Development Study.

Durian shells contain abundant antimicrobial active substances, representing an underutilized resource for controlling postharvest pathogens. This study evaluated the antifungal activity of durian shell ethanol extract (DSEE) against several postharvest pathogenic fungi and explored its underlying mechanism. Gut microbiota can influence the growth performance of animals. In our previous study, Enterococcus faecium B13 exhibited promoting growth in piglets. An ideal free graft substance for urethroplasty should: 1, be well accepted at the site of urethroplasty with rapid healing; 2, not invite secondary complications, such as cysts, hair growth and calculus formation; 3, not cause scarring or recurrent stricture disease, and 4, be easy to procure and handle. Tunica vaginalis satisfies these criteria and, in this experimental study, proved to be an excellent graft material for urethroplastic procedures.

A structure resembling a sulfur granule found in histologic sections of endometrium from patients with intrauterine contraceptive devices is described. It is distinguished from a true sulfur granule on morphologic grounds and is further characterized as a foreign substance, most probably fragments of the synthetic contraceptive device. It is not associated with clinical disease. Microbiologic cultures of removed intrauterine contraceptive devices show no consistent or predominant growth pattern.
