BACKGROUND: The North American Contact Dermatitis Group (NACDG) tests patients with suspected allergic contact dermatitis to a broad series of screening allergens and publishes periodic reports.
OBJECTIVE: The aims of this study were to report the NACDG patch-testing results from January 1, 2007, to December 31, 2008, and to compare results to pooled test data from the previous 2 and 10 years to analyze trends in allergen sensitivity.

Trichoderma species, the causal agents of green mould disease, induce great losses in Agaricus bisporus farms. Fungicides are widely used to control mushroom diseases although green mould control is encumbered with difficulties. It is proposed that the same diseases as those induced by the graft-versus-host reaction (GVHR) will arise in nonchimeric individuals, if structures of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) on lymphocytes are altered, either by viral infection or by chemicals, in such a way that autologous T lymphocytes react against them as the react in the GVHR to semiallogeneic (F1) lymphocytes differing at the MHC. METHODS: The data came from the compressed mortality file of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) of the United States. Drug-induced mortality was used to analyze the effects of gender, race, age, and drug on drug-induced fatal adverse effects.

The effect of dantrolene sodium, a skeletal muscle relaxant, on the hepatic MFO system has been investigated. The dantrolene produces a dose related inhibition of the system. Single doses of 100 mg/kg and accumulative doses up to 125 mg/kg prolong pentobarbital sleeping time and decrease the rate of aminopyrine N-demethylation without altering cytochrome P450 content. However, single doses of 400 mg/kg and accumulative doses of 500 mg/kg do cause a decrease in cytochrome P450 content as part of the dantrolene induced inhibition of the hepatic MFO system.
