PURPOSE: To assess the tolerability and efficacy of intravitreal injections of foscarnet in cytomegalovirus (CMV) retinitis in acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).
METHODS: Patients with CMV retinitis resistant and/or intolerant to intravenous foscarnet and ganciclovir and resistant to intravitreal ganciclovir were included.
