OBJECTIVE: To define the regulatory mechanisms that mediate the increased myometrial inflammatory response leading to labor, we investigated the roles of microRNAs (miRNA/miR).

A method of laser-correlation spectrophotometry was applied for finding the effect of proton transmembrane gradient on hydrodynamic diameter of plasmalemma smooth muscle vesicles. It is shown, that the building of protons gradient on the membrane of vesicles, pHi = 6.0; pHo = 7.5 (delta pH = 1.5) results in the reliable decrease of their hydrodynamic diameter (from 212 +/- 6 nm in monitoring to 174 +/- +/- 0.25 nm in experiment). BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to check whether there exists a difference in restitutio ad integrum of the uterus after myomectomy performed during Caesarean section and out of pregnancy.

This report presents a case of precursor T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma (ALL) involving the uterine cervix, myometrium, endometrium, and appendix. The author has studied the cadmium concentration in uterine myomas, myometrial tissue and peripheral blood in 72 women living in Lower Silesia. The highest cadmium concentration was observed in myometrial tissue, lower in uterine myomas and the lowest in the peripheral blood. The differences among the tissues were statistically significant. There were no significant differences in the cadmium concentration concerning the women's age. There was significant positive correlation in the cadmium concentration between the myomas and the myometrium.

Increases in guanosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate (cGMP) induced by nitric oxide (NO), nitrovasodilators, and atrial peptides correlate with relaxation of vascular smooth muscle.
