INTRODUCTION: "Café au lait" spots (CLS) are pigmented skin lesions principally located at the trunk and the limbs. Histologically, CLSs consist in an excessive pigmentation of the epidermis, with no risk of malignant transformation. The "kissing" nevus is a rare pigmented congenital nevus affecting both lower and upper eyelids in a mirror layout. As other nevi, it presents a theoretical risk of malignant transformation. These two pigmented lesions are responsible for aesthetic discomfort when affecting the face.

Epidermal nevus syndromes are rare conditions, characterized by different types of keratinocytic or organoid epidermal nevi in association with ocular, neurological, and skeletal manifestations. We present a case of late onset epidermal nevus with hypertrichosis and hemihypertrophy of face. Genetic analysis did not reveal presence of FGFR3 or PIK3CA mutations. The patient has features that cannot be categorized into the present well-known syndromes.

Proteus syndrome is one of the very rare syndromes with occurrence of cerebriform connective tissue nevus. The aim of the present manuscript was to present a case of Proteus syndrome in an unusual facial location, which to the best of our knowledge, is being reported for the first time. The unusual occurrence further strengthens the mosaical basis of its etiopathogenesis.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical results of 71 cases with verrucous epidermal nevus (VEN) treated by cryotherapy or CO2 laser.
METHODS: The files and photographs of patients with VEN who were treated in the laser unit of a tertiary hospital between January 2005 and December 2011 were evaluated. Pretreatment and 12-month follow-up photographs were evaluated using a 5-point scale: 'excellent' (75-100% clearance), 'good' (50-75% clearance), 'fair' (25-50% clearance), 'poor' (<25% clearance) or 'worse'.

A 75-year-old man presented with a recurrent, unilateral, solitary, linear, corrugated lesion of the right upper eyelid of prolonged duration together with bilateral dermatochalasis. A re-excision with blepharoplasty was performed. The epithelioid blue nevus (EBN) is considered a cutaneous marker of the Carney complex. Sporadic EBN has been reported in patients not exhibiting the Carney complex. Syringocystadenoma papilliferum is a benign adnexal lesion of the skin most commonly found in the head and neck region. It is frequently seen in association with other benign adnexal lesions. We report a case of syringocystadenoma papilliferum seen in conjunction with an eccrine nevus. To our knowledge, this association has not been previously documented in the literature.
