The aim of this study was to examine whether there was an increase of suppressor T cells, relative to helper T cells, in the intestinal lamina propria of Hymenolepis diminuta-infected rats, a condition which might allow the parasite to survive for the life-span of the host. The right gastroepiploic artery (GEA) was used as hepatic artery graft in 2 patients with advanced upper bile duct cancer. Cell suspensions containing an average of 78% lymphocytes were obtained from synovial tissues of 26 patients with rheumatoid arthritis and 10 patients with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Four types of hay were used: an early-cut and a late-cut lucerne (Medicago sativa) and an early-cut and a late-cut ryegrass (Lolium italicum). OBJECTIVE: to describe a new model of training in microsurgery with pig spleen after splenectomy performed by undergraduate students of the Discipline of Operative Technique of the UFPR Medical School.
METHODS: after the completion of splenectomy we performed dissection of the vascular pedicle, distal and proximal to the ligation performed for removal of the spleen. PURPOSE: To report a new technique to visualize bleb leakage using indocyanine green (ICG) staining during trabeculectomy.
PATIENTS AND METHODS: The ICG solution was widely applied over the filtering bleb including the conjunctival wound before completion of trabeculectomy. This procedure was performed in 48 eyes of 44 consecutive patients undergoing trabeculectomy between December 2004 and October 2005.
