In this study, a lab-scale upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor was applied to the treatment of artificial electronics industry wastewater containing tetramethylammonium-hydroxide (TMAH), monoethanolamine (MEA), and isopropyl-alcohol (IPA) in order to evaluate process performance and degradation properties. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the trace pollutant trichloroethylene (TCE) on the nitrification process and to assess its cometabolic degradation. Nitrification was accomplished in batch suspended growth systems containing an enriched nitrifier culture.
