At 15, 18, 21 and 22 days of gestation one uterine horn of each anaesthetized rat was exposed, after laparatomy, to ultrasound. The control horn was effectively shielded. Selenium-79 is a critical radionuclide in the safety assessment of high-level radioactive waste in deep geological repositories in clay-rich formations, due to its long half-life and speciation.
