A simple, precise UV-spectroscopy method using isosbestic point detection was developed for simultaneous analysis. The developed method exhibited good linearity over the concentration range of 0-12 μg/mL at both 269.7 nm and 252 nm. At 269.7 nm, the R2 values were 0.9963 and 0.9964 for ascorbic acid and resveratrol, with LOD/LOQ values of 1.597/4.838 μg/mL and 1.563/4.737 μg/mL, respectively. This study provides a comprehensive assessment of the antioxidant potential of Asphodelus tenuifolius Cav. From El-Oued region of southeastern Algeria, through a combined spectrophotometric, electrochemical, and chromatographic approach. In this work, we propose a novel approach for extracting Cu and Ni from vegetable oils (which can be expanded to other metals). A sensitive and selective phenothiazine-based sensor (PTZ) has been successfully synthesized. The sensor PTZ displayed specific identification of CN- 'turn-off' fluorescence responses with a quick reaction and strong reversibility in an acetonitrile:water (90:10, V/V) solution. The sensor PTZ for detecting CN- exhibits the marked advantages of quenching the fluorescence intensity, fast response time (60 s), and low value of the detection limit. The concentration that is authorized for drinking water by the WHO (1.9 μM) is far higher than the detection limit, which was found to be 9.11 × 10-9 .

An easy and reliable method is optimized for extractive spectrophotometric assessment of platinum(IV) with 4-(4'-nitrobenzylideneimino)-3-methyl-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole as an extractant. The basis of this method is the formation of red platinum(IV) complex with the above reagent in acetate buffer medium (pH 5.0) and extraction in chloroform. The synthesis of a novel class of exocyclic bis- and tris-3,2-hydroxypyridinone (HOPO) chelators built on N(2) and N(3) aza-macrocyclic scaffolds and the thermodynamic solution characterization of their complexes with Fe(III) are described. The absorption abilities of selected heavy metals by twelve genotypes of willow (Salix) were compared in a hydroponic experiment. Coefficients of increased ion concentrations in tissues of each tested genotype were determined in relation to initial values. The adsorption of penicillamine from ethanol on gold was studied in situ by attenuated total reflection infrared (ATR-IR) and quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) experiments. Both ATR-IR and QCM reveal a fast mass uptake. In ethanol, the molecule adopts a zwitterionic form. IR microspectroscopic imaging is a relatively new approach for the examination of tissue sections. In contrast to standard light microscopy based procedures, the IR approach requires neither sample staining nor fixation. The IR spectra of breast tumor tissue sections are obtained via a microscope equipped with a focal plane array detector. A new flow injection analysis (FIA) procedure is proposed for the indirect atomic absorption spectrometric determination of cyanide. The FIA manifold is based on the insertion of the sample into a distilled water carrier, then the sample flows through a solid-phase reactor filled with silver iodide entrapped in polymeric resin beads. In recent times zinc is emerging as a nutrient of clinical importance and had been found to be low in serum in various disease conditions. In the current study 11 control cases and 22 corneal ulcer cases were taken. Their serum zinc level was measured by atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Serum zinc level in recalcitrant corneal ulcer cases was found to be below normal.
