BACKGROUND: After experimental angioplasty, partial or complete reendothelialization of the denuded surface occurs; the function of the regenerated endothelium has, however, been shown to be abnormal. METHODS: Seventy-four women undergoing hysterectomy between September 1995 and March 1996 were evaluated.
