CME: Gout Ulcer: An Underrecognized Cause of Leg Ulcer and Its Most Common Differential Diagnosis Abstract. In addition to the differential diagnosis of the leg ulcer, an entity hardly mentioned in the literature is considered, namely the gout ulcer. On the basis of a case study, newer forms of diagnosis and their significance in case of suspicion of gout ulcer are discussed.

OBJECTIVE: Gastric ulcer is an important clinical problem, chiefly due to extensive use of some drugs. The aim was to assess the activity of Mumijo extract (which is used in traditional medicine) against acetic acid induced gastric ulcer in rats.

We investigated the relationship between histological maturity of healed duodenal ulcer and ulcer recurrence after treatment with omeprazole or cimetidine for 4 weeks. The healing rates, 92.5 and 72.4% in omeprazole-treated and cimetidine-treated groups, respectively, showed no significant difference between groups (P > 0.05).
