Foreign bodies in the lower urinary system are relatively uncommon. The foreign body can cause significant discomfort, hematuria, or infection of the urinary system. Diagnosis is usually made by clinical examination and pelvic X-ray. The case we present is interesting in that the foreign body, that is the wire, coiled and made a knot within the bladder. Primary malignant melanoma of the female urethra is an extremely rare disease. Its frequency is only 0.2% of all malignant melanomas. This type of carcinoma is associated with a poor prognosis and short survival due to the early occurrence of metastases and delayed diagnosis. We present a patient with primary malignant melanoma invading the distal urethra, part of the labia minora, and sections of the anterior vaginal wall, where 15 months of overall survival were achieved against the background of the complex treatment.

OBJECTIVE: Primary cancer of female urethra is rare and represents about 0.02% of all neoplasias found in women and the majority of them are squamous cell carcinomas. Diagnosis is difficult due to the fact that the disease has usually reached advanced stage. We report our experience with two patients with urethral adenocarcinoma.

We reviewed the current literature on lichen sclerosus as it related to urethral stricture disease using MEDLINE and PubMed (U.S. National Library of Medicine, National Institutes of Health) up to the current time.
