The most common causes of an 'acute scrotum' in childhood are testicular torsion, torsion of an appendix testis, epididyoorchitis, idiopathic edema, and hematoma. In rare cases a scrotal hematoma can originate from an extra- or intraperitoneal adrenal bleeding. 12 such cases have been described in the literature, yet. The effect of posterior sagittal anorectoplasty (PSARP) and its variants on lower urinary tract function was investigated urodynamically in 32 patients with anorectal malformations. The use of the distraction test as a screen for hearing loss in infancy was reviewed in the Bristol and District Health Authority. A search was made in The National Board Hospital Register of all admissions to Danish hospitals caused by ingestion of corrosives or suspected ingestion of corrosives during 1984-1988 among children aged 0-14 years.
