We report a case of fatal Strongyloides stercoralis (S. stercoralis) infection in a 35-year-old female with lupus glomerulonephritis after prolonged steroid therapy. An epidemiological evaluation revealed that our patient originated from a rural area in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was an endemic region of S. stercoralis infection in the former Yugoslavia. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of pneumocystosis complicated after renal transplantation.
METHODS: Data from 12 cases of kidney transplant recipients who developed pneumocystosis were analyzed by clinical symptoms and signs, results of laboratory examination, imaging, bronchoscopy and biopsy. Combined TMP/SMZ was used for the prevention and treatment.

We describe 4 patients infected with levofloxacin-resistant pneumococci after therapy for community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). The 4 patients had 15 episodes of CAP; Streptococcus pneumoniae was isolated from blood or sputum samples obtained during 14 of the episodes. The underlying medical condition was Bruton agammaglobulinemia in 3 patients and chronic lymphoid leukemia in the other. PURPOSE: To give an overview of 503 patients with tuberculosis (TB) and to describe the radiologic findings of chest TB.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: A total of 503 patients with proven TB were reviewed; 266 had chest involvement.
