A series of fluorescent probes, including a number of molecular rotors, have been used to follow the self-assembly of dipeptide-based low molecular weight gelators. We show that these probes can be used to gain an insight into the assembly process. Thioflavin T, a commonly used stain for β-sheets, appears to act as a molecular rotor in these gelling systems, with the fluorescence data closely matching that of other rotors. To describe a case of probable relapsing autoimmune hepatitis associated with vaccination against hepatitis A virus (HAV). A case report and review of literature were written concerning autoimmune hepatitis in association with hepatitis A and other hepatotropic viruses. Soon after the administration of formalin-inactivated hepatitis A vaccine, a man who had recently recovered from an uncharacterized but self-limiting hepatitic illness, experienced a severe deterioration (AST 1687 U/L, INR 1.4). Anti-nuclear antibodies were detectable, and liver biopsy was compatible with autoimmune hepatitis.

Children experience stressors related to self-concept and school, family, and peer relationships. This study of children with asthma determined their perceptions of the frequency and severity of stressors they experience other than their asthma. Children with asthma are similar to peers with regard to perceptions of stressors. Teachers, health professionals, and parents should consider children with asthma as normal children who have an additional source of stress--a chronic illness. This study compared the effect of sensory integration therapy (SI), perceptual-motor training (PM) and no treatment (NT) on the performance of 103 children with learning disabilities and sensory integrative dysfunction, aged 58 to 107 months, who were randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups or to no treatment. The clinical courses of 14 children with acute pulmonary blastomycosis were studied. All the patients had a remarkably similar illness limited to the lungs with fever, malaise, and respiratory symptoms (cough, sputum production, chest pain, and vomiting). Despite eventual recovery with treatment in all instances, 13 of the 14 children persisted in having abnormal roentgenograms. Three children have demonstrated persistent mild obstructive airway disease for two to 12 months after completion of therapy.
