PURPOSE: This is a retrospective nonrandomized cohort study investigating the prevalence, timing, and type of cardiac sarcoidosis indications on electrocardiogram in patients with diagnosed or suspected ocular sarcoidosis.
METHODS: Medical histories of individuals seen from 2005 to 2020 at two centers with diagnosed or suspected ocular sarcoidosis were searched, and statistical methods were used to evaluate the relevance of each aspect obtained.

CASE REPORT: We report the case of a 28-year old woman suffering loss of visual acuity in her left eye, who presented an image suggestive of a subretinal neovascular membrane in her left eye, and bilateral retinal lesions compatible with punctate inner choroidopathy (PIC). Rheumatologic diseases are often associated with ophthalmic findings. Familiarity with and recognition of these ophthalmic presentations are important in the management of both the systemic and ocular manifestations of the disease. Identification of ocular signs and symptoms of rheumatologic disease will allow a more comprehensive approach to treatment of patients with rheumatic conditions.

Ocular inflammatory diseases are frequently a part of clinical features of numerous systemic rheumatic disorders. Furthermore, appearance of ophthalmic disease can precede the other manifestation of rheumatic disorders and can be the first sign of systemic disease. At the alredy known rheumatic disease, ocular inflammation may demonstrate the grade of systemic disorder. Therefore multidisciplinary approaches, timely and correct diagnosis, as well as appropriate therapy these ocular inflammatory conditions enable visual function protection, health improvement and life saving.
