OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinical effect and application value of the modified method of prepuce-degloving repair (PDR) in the treatment of urethrocutaneous fistula (UCF) following hypospadias surgery.
METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed 87 cases of UCF caused by hypospadias repair from May 2001 to December 2011, of which 61 were treated by simple closure or Y-V plasty of the fistula (group A), and the other 26 by modified PDR (group B). We compared the success rate of surgery and long-term recurrence between the two groups.
RESULTS: The total success rates of repair were 78.7 and 96.2

BACKGROUND: De novo onset or aggravation of migraine has been observed after atrial septal defect closure (ASDC), whereas antiplatelet drugs, such as clopidogrel, used to prevent post-ASDC thromboembolic events, have been associated with migraine amelioration.
CASE: We report the case of a woman who, after ASDC, experienced de novo severe migraine with aura. Whereas use of acetylsalicylic acid or clopidogrel had no effect, ticlopidine use was associated with migraine amelioration. Migraine relapsed after two ticlopidine dechallenges, and disappeared after drug rechallenges.

Sternal dehiscence after cardiac surgery occurs infrequently and can lead to mediastinitis and prolonged hospital stay and may even result in death. The most common treatment for mechanical sternal instability is rewiring with wound debridement. We present a case in which a modified titanium mesh plate fixation technique was used. A safe and easy to perform technique, this method can be an alternative option to wire closure in a sternum with fractures, instability or poor bone quality.

A 21-year-old housewife with long-standing hemifacial paralysis on the left side decided to undergo the classic two-stage cross-facial nerve graft with muscle transfer. The first stage of the operation was performed successfully with the use of a sural nerve graft.
