Perceptions and attitudes toward obesity care among nursing professionals.

BACKGROUND: The understanding of obesity is evolving from a perceived lifestyle-related condition to a chronic, biologically driven disease. Perception of obesity as a disease among health care professionals is important for effective evidence-based obesity care. Nurses have the most sustained patient contact and play an important role in obesity prevention and management, yet their role in this context remains underexplored. We therefore assessed the perceptions and attitudes towards obesity and obesity care in a Slovenian nursing care cohort. METHODS: Non-interventional, descriptive, cross-

Identifying the Challenges in Self-Management and Preferences for Digital Health Technologies Use Among COPD Patients Based on the CeHRes Roadmap: A Formative Qualitative Study.

BACKGROUND: Digital health technologies offer a promising approach to strengthening self-management capacity among patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), yet clinical application is hampered by poor adherence, low sustained engagement, and limited self-management ability. Although previous studies have identified general self-management challenges in COPD, few have systematically investigated patients' preferences for digital tools or translated these insights into actionable design principles. This hinders the user-centred development and effective deployment of digital i

They then completed measures of DA and fear towards the patient. RESULTS: Older patients with dementia were associated with higher DA compared to all other conditions. Greater fear was associated with patients in the dementia tar

Hypertension knowledge, attitudes, and practices of nurses and physicians in primary care in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia.

Increased blood pressure is a leading risk for death globally, and interventions to enhance hypertension control have become a high priority. An important aspect of clinical interventions is understanding the knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) of differing primary healthcare practitioners. We examined KAP surveys from 803 primary care practitioners in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia (response rate 80%), using a comprehensive KAP survey developed by the World Hypertension League (WHL). The WHL KAP survey uniquely includes an assessment of key World Health Organization recommended interventions to

Clinical outcomes, behavioral modifications, and quality of life were evaluated through periodontal examinations, health knowledge questionnaires, and standardized assessments. Initial results at 1 and 3 mon

Educational interventions and communication strategies to improve HPV immunization uptake: a systematic literature review.

INTRODUCTION: Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection represents a global health concern, causing approximately 627,000 cancer cases in women and 69,400 in men annually. Despite the proven value of HPV vaccines, disparities in vaccination coverage persist worldwide, highlighting the need for coordinated efforts to address vaccine acceptance and promote equitable access. To tackle this global challenge and align with the World Health Organization's (WHO) strategy to eliminate cervical cancer by 2030, implementing effective interventions to enhance knowledge within target populations is crucial to

Efficacy of Community Health Worker-Delivered Family Health History-Based Breast Cancer Education and Services Among Chinese Americans.

Family health history (FHH) is an evidence-based genomics tool used in cancer prevention and education. Chinese Americans, the largest Asian American group, face unique barriers in FHH collection and communication. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of culturally and linguistically appropriate community health worker (CHW)-delivered FHH-based breast cancer (BC) education and services to Chinese Americans. A total of 1129 Chinese Americans received FHH-based BC education and service delivered by our trained Chinese American CHWs. Participants responded to evaluation surveys before, immed

Addressing COVID-19 and Health Literacy Disparities Among Correctional Facility Residents Through Dialogue-Based Education.

Carceral communities face heightened COVID-19-related risks while simultaneously experiencing medical mistrust and limited access to health information and services. Health education programs that incorporate dialogue-based, participatory learning models have been shown to motivate health behavior and increase health knowledge in carceral settings. To increase health literacy and change COVID-19-related health behavior among jail residents in the United States, a local health department developed a dialogue-based education program centered around COVID-19 prevention, misinformation, and naviga

[The wanderings of the communication on the Ebola virus disease].

For two reasons, communication is one of the major tools in the fight against any Ebola epidemics. Firstly, because Ebola is one of the most easily preventable of all infectious diseases and the thorough application of health-protection measures by the community of the sick persons is the best tool to fight any Ebola epidemic. Secondly, because during the two dozens of known Ebola epidemics health care workers have often met with people's skepticism, or even hostility. However, our review of Ebola communication, as defined by WHO since 2013, shows that it has been marked by a series of errors,

Successes and problems in family planning administration: experiences in two districts of Kerala, India.

The administrative organizations of the Ernakulam and Malappuram Districts' family planning programs during 1970-74 and the ways they dealt with typical problems of program organization are examined. Lack of personnel, poor staff morale, inadequate supplies, and political and religious opposition to various contraceptive methods, especially sterilization, existed to varying degrees in both districts' programs. The Ernakulam experience, involving mass sterilization camps that were part of an overall district development program, documents the effectiveness of a strong central leader. The Malapp
